ROCK & REEF 7 Days Classic Itinerary

In one week you can luxuriously experience two of Australia's top attractions. The legendary outback and tropical North Queensland with it's rain forests and Great Barrier Reef. This idea combines nicely with the Sydney/Canberra/Melbourne
 Classic.

ITINERARY
Tour is possible to operate in a reverse order

Day 1. Arrive Alice Springs, the famous "Town like Alice". Upon arrival you make your way to your hotel. The remainder of the day is atleisure. Tonight you might like to visit the Casino or "Take a camel to dinner" (own expense).

Day 2. Alice Springs to Ayers Rock & Olgas. Off early by coach and travel through changing scenery from the MacDonnell Ranges, over the Finke River into the semi-arid desert that surrounds Ayers Rock and the Olgas. After visiting the Olgas, see the setting sun light up "The Rock", the world's largest monolith. Overnight at the magnificent Yulara Resort.

Day 3. Ayers Rock. All morning is spent visiting the area, with time to climb "The Rock" if you wish. You'll hear some of the Aboriginal mythology and legends that surround this area. A local airline charter company operates optional scenic flights. This afternoon relax and enjoy "The Red Center".

Day 4. Ayers Rock to Cairns. Fly today from the Center to the Reef (airfare not included). Upon arrival in Cairns you will transferred to your hotel.

Day 5. Great Barrier Reef. Today visit the Outer Barrier Reef.There will be time for a swim and to view the abundant sea life from theunderwater observatory and see the beautiful coral from a glass bottom boat. L

Day 6. Kuranda & Aboriginal Experience. Board the Kuranda train for a scenic ride to Kuranda, famous for its markets. Travel into the towering rain forest on an amphibious army duck. Enjoy an Aussie BBQ lunch and an authentic aboriginal cultural performance under the canopy of the rain forest. Experience a "Dreamtime" walk with an aboriginal guide.Throw a boomerang! You will also see and touch Australian native animals.See koalas and kangaroos and glide over the rain forest canopy on Skyrail.L

Day 7. Depart Cairns. At leisure until you transfer to the airportfor your return flight.
